Mystery Silk - Can Anyone Explain it's Provenance?

On the death of Albert Armitage (my husband's grandfather) this cloth was found in his effects. He was a son of George Armitage (born 16 April 1847) and Ann Heyes (born 1846).

The silk shows a centre image of Albion Church and on the four corners are the Ashton crest and motto "Labor Omnia Vincit".
