NORTH WEST SOUND ARCHIVE OPEN DAY

WEDNESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2010 11.00 A.M – 4.00 P.M.

PENDLE ROOM, CLITHEROE CASTLE

We would like to invite you to an Open Day here at the Sound Archive on Wednesday 22nd September 2010. It will be an opportunity to meet, discuss projects and generally exchange ideas and viewpoints. For those who have not visited North West Sound Archive before there will also be the opportunity to see the work of the Sound Archive. There is no limit as to how many people may attend from each organisation or project – indeed the more the merrier! The Archive staff will be available throughout the day to give information, help and advice on equipment, recording techniques, cataloguing, conservation or any other aspect concerning recording and oral history. The Open Day will also be attended by an Archivist from Lancashire Record Office, Lancashire Libraries Community History Service and a member of staff from North West Film Archive who will be available to answer questions on other archive matters.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day and a simple buffet lunch will be provided around 12.30 p.m.

It would be helpful if we could have a rough idea as to how many people are interested in attending – although we do realise that plans can change between now and then. So, if you are interested in attending the Open Day, please email, telephone or fax the Sound Archive.

There is disabled parking only at the Castle but plenty of car parks and on street parking within a few minutes walk from the Castle.

We hope you will be able to come along and look forward to seeing you in September.
